Being Intentional

Hey everybody, I hope you’re all having a fantastic day! I know I am because we’re about to talk about something super awesome: being intentional! Thank you so much for popping into reading my post today. For those of you who do not know me, I am Raegan, and I so grateful I get a part in your day today, and that you’re taking time out to read what I have to say!

Just yesterday, I was talking with my friend Susie, and we’re just talking about the importance of being intentional with our relationships, and just uniquely living intentionally. I’m going to explain that, and we’re going to start with these lyrics from Matthew West’s song, “Do Something.”

woke up this morning

…People living in poverty..

The thought disgusted me

So, I shook my fist at Heaven

Said, “God, why don’t You do something?”

He said, “I did, yeah, I created you”

If not us, then who

If not me and you..

What does this mean?

The crazy thing is, it is easy to say yes, but how do people get exposed and hear about Him? It starts with US! Yes you, not the person downstairs or next to you, but YOU!  That’s exactly what this song means! If you have extra time at the end, I’ll leave the link on the bottom of this post.

But, now I have two more questions..

Why live intentionally?

Wouldn’t that be hard?

Guys, Susie said something so cool yesterday. She said that no matter where you stand, no matter how bad you have messed up, God still stands there with open arms, welcoming you. It’s not like you have to go change and put on your best outfit to have Him love you. I’ve seen people go to church in pajamas. It doesn’t matter what you look like or what you’ve done, He still loves us all.

For those of us who believe, this is so incredible. It’s what God calls us to do. He tells us to go and live out our faith. And not to be ashamed of it. Look at Matthew 28:19-29,

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We are told to go out and talk about God. It might be scary at first, but I promise you it gets easier and easier. This also can look different for everyone.

Here are some ways:

  • Giving someone a ride to school, and slowly bringing up an upcoming church evernt.
  • In the workplace
  • At school
  • Loving someone how God loves us.

These are just a few ways or places that you can go out and be intentional.

I have two challenges for you guys today. The first one is to go out and be intentional with somebody you see this week. The thing I like to think of is using God talk rather than self talk.

The Second Challenge is to listen to that song. And just listen to what the words are saying.

Have a great week!
