Preparing For My Wild Trip!!

Hey guys, welcome back, it’s Raegan! For those of you who this is your first time viewing, welcome! I am so glad you could join us today! Like I said, I am Raegan, and I am one of the owners of this blog. I’m so glad for those of you who are returning viewers who came back! I just want to thank you guys!

Last week, I decided I was going to tell you guys about my awesome summer opportunity. I’ll give you guys who haven’t read it, or those who need a refresher, a thumbnail sketch.

In the winter, I was trying to figure out where God wanted me this summer. I knew ahead of time that I had a lot of options. I decied I was going to put my full trust in Him, and see what God wanted me to do.

The next day, I was contacted by a coach who I hadn’t seen in over probably three years. He asked me what I was doing this summer… I agreed to his trip.

Now we are where I left off.

Fast forward to Mid-June, I start getting information all about the trip. Also, I received a list of a ton of forms I need to get in as soon as possible. This meant the trip was just around the corner! I was so excited!
Monday, July 1, finally came. It is the first day of orientation for whatever I was doing this summer. At this point, I didn’t know that much, other than where I would be. So I arrived to orientation 45 minutes early. I sat in my car for awhile before I decided to enter. Once I saw my coach, the one who invited me, I went in.

While inside, I looked for familiar faces. There were none… But there were three guys who also looked very confused. After talking to them for awhile. I learned their names and where they were from. I met Matthew, from Northern Ireland, João, from Brazil, and Joaquin, from Peru. I struggled at first with their accents, but by the end of the week, I transalted for Matthew when he talked to others. This was because he spoke at an insane pace, and no one could really  follow him. After people began to arrive, I met more people. I met Paul, from Cyprus, and Aaron, from Northern Ireland, as well. This was my group during orientation. Not much happened during orientation other than learning rules, getting our teams, and building friendships.

However, I had a really cool experience being able to share to the Youth Pastor of this church what I think when I hear disciple making. I got to explain to him the idea of Fishing.

For those of you who are regular viewers I do apoligize I bring this up evry few months, but it’s so important to me.

In Matthew 4:19, its stated, “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” Awhile back, I learned what it meant to fish for people.

And, how the word fish stands for something.

It stands for

F. Friendly

I. Initiate conversation

S. Share your story

H. Hope, give them hope.. The hope of Jesus! Becuase of Jesus we can all have hope in this world!

So during orentation I was able to share that to him, and it was cool to watch his reaction, because I don’t think he had ever heard that before!

So, that’s all I have on orientation. Come back next week to hear all about my first week of camp!!

Thanks for popping in!
