Navigating Through the Uncertainty

Hello everyone! I hope this post finds you doing well. It’s Alyssa & today I will be sharing about something that is very relevant to many people’s lives! Many of us have, am, or will go through uncertainties and I believe that Christians have a huge blessing through our rough times- the confidence we have in God and His plan for us!

A key and fundamental verse that I live by in rough times is Jeremiah 29:11. The truth found in this verse is “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

God had a plan perfectly set for you long before you were born on Earth. Along with this glorious plan, He knew the hairs on your head and exactly what you will look like. He picked specifically a mother and a father for you, exactly to fit the plan that He has intended for you. I don’t know about you guys, but when I need a confidence booster when it comes to my life plans, picking apart this verse helps bring me a peace of mind.

Maybe currently you’re struggling in your navigation of your future. Maybe it’s your current relationship, job, picking a college, or a family situation. You may not be sure of why this is happening to you, what the point of your uncertainty is, or when it is going to stop. Friends, do not feel alone in this. We all experience this in one case or another, and I think it is so comforting to think that we are not in this alone. Currently, I am struggling with a number of these, but talking to a Christian community that is going through these same things or that can help encourage me is so essential.

Through an uncertainty, I tend to do 2 things that I pray will help you guys through your storms in life.

  1. Seek God
  2. Follow His calling

Seek God– Philippians 4:6-7 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” God tells us to not worry about anything, but instead bring it to Him. And through this, He will guard your heart.

Follow His calling– 2 Peter 1: 10-11 says “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” God is telling us to pray about our calling, and not only our calling, but everything in life. If we follow God’s calling for a situation or life, we will be greatly welcomed into the Kingdom.

It is also very important to praise Him in the valleys and depths of our lives. It is just as important to praise Him in the highs of life. Two songs that immediately come to mind when talking about the highs and lows of life is Hills and Valleys by Tauren Wells and Yes I Will by Vertical Worship. If you get a chance, I encourage you to really dig into the lyrics of these songs!

I hope you guys have a great week! I encourage you to look to Jesus through your hills and valleys and seek what His plan is! Hope y’all have a great week! -A
